I've discounted: Nice (too big) Aix (too expensive for such a long stay) Arles (too small) and Avignon as well, which I've heard is not that nice outside of the old centre (and we would need a hotel outside of the centre, in order to get a pool .... Of course, Montpellier is a lot larger than Nimes, I imagine it's about 200K population, and has a lot of students and has a very young population (half under age 35).
